David Goldenberg is a Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist. He was educated at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel (BSc in Medical Sciences and MD degree). He completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Rambam Medical Center, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, and then did a 3-year fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, he is Associate Professor of Surgery at the Penn State College of Medicine, Director of Head and Neck Surgery at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Team at the Penn State Cancer Institute in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He combines a surgical practice with teaching and research in head and neck and thyroid malignancies. His clinical expertise is in the surgical care of patients with head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer, and parathyroid disease. His research focus is on the opioid growth factor and opioid growth factor receptor axis as it relates to thyroid and head and neck cancer. He is also an accomplished and prolific author of articles and chapters in the field of head and neck oncology and surgery.
